Astros acquire Conger from Angels

Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – The Houston Astros have acquired catcher
Hank Conger from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for catcher Carlos Perez
and pitcher Nick Tropeano.

Conger, a switch-hitter, batted .221 with four homers and 25 RBI in 80 games
for the Angels this past season. The AL West champs went 42-28 in his 70
starts behind the plate.

In 251 career games with the Angels, Conger hit .224 with 17 homers and 71
RBI.

Perez spent the 2014 season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, hitting .259 with 16
doubles, six homers and 34 RBI in 88 games.

Tropeano made his MLB debut with Houston this season and went 1-3 with a 4.57
ERA in four starts. The right-hander was 9-5 with a 3.03 ERA in 23 games (20
starts) with Oklahoma City in 2014.
