Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Oakland Athletics promoted Darren Bush
to hitting coach and named Scott Emerson bullpen coach and Marcus Jensen
assistant hitting/catching coach on Thursday.
Bush served as the A’s bullpen coach the past two seasons, his first
assignment on a major league coaching staff. He replaces Chili Davis, who
left to take the same position with the Boston Red Sox.
Emerson earns his first major league coaching assignment after spending the
last two seasons as the A’s minor league roving pitching instructor, while
Jensen also joins his first big league coaching staff after serving as the A’s
minor league roving hitting instructor in 2014.
In other A’s coaching news, pitching coach Curt Young, third base coach Mike
Gallego and first base coach Tye Waller will return in their same capacities
in 2015. They join new bench coach Mike Aldrete to complete the A’s 2015
coaching staff.
