AZ Alkmaar climbs to sixth with NAC defeat

Breda, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) – AZ Alkmaar climbed all the way up to
fifth place in the Eredivisie table on Saturday thanks to a 1-0 victory at NAC
Breda.

The match was scoreless until the 57th minute when Nemanja Gudelj provided
what turned out to be the lone goal of the match, lifting AZ Alkmaar to 18
points on the season and out of the bottom-half of the table.

NAC Breda remains on 10 points, keeping the club third from bottom.

Den Haag almost squandered a two-goal lead against Willem II on Saturday, but
a late penalty from Roland Alberg granted the club a 3-2 victory.

Mathias Gehrt and Michiel Kramer provided first-half goals for Den Haag only
to see Stijn Wuytens and Samuel Armenteros brings visiting Willem II level in
the second period.

But Alberg converted from the spot in the 74th minute to hand Den Haag the
win, bringing the club to 13 points on the season.

Elsewhere in the Dutch top flight on Saturday, Zwolle climbed to fourth place
with a 2-0 victory over Groningen while Heerenveen and Go Ahead Eagles split
the points in a 2-2 draw.
