St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) – Joakim Lindstrom scored in the second
round of the shootout to lift the St. Louis Blues over the Colorado Avalanche,
3-2, on Saturday.
Vladimir Tarasenko scored a pair of goals for the Blues, who have won four in
a row. Brian Elliott made 27 saves and stopped Gabriel Landeskog, Matt Duchene
and Ryan O’Reilly in the shootout.
O’Reilly and Nathan MacKinnon each had one goal and an assist for the
Avalanche, who fell to 3-4-5 on the young season. Semyon Varlamov stopped 27-
of-29 shots.
Tarasenko’s blast from the right point gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead at the 16:29
mark of the first period.
Tarasenko tipped Alex Pietrangelo’s shot past Varlamov 46 seconds into the
third for a 2-0 lead.
Colorado responded with two power play goals. O’Reilly jammed home his own
rebound at 2:19 and MacKinnon scored from the slot at 5:13.

The Blues were without T.J. Oshie (concussion) and former Avalanche center
Paul Stastny (shoulder) … Blues captain David Backes returned after missing
Thursday with a concussion … Former St. Louis defenseman Erik Johnson had
