Arcadia, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Bobby’s Kitten, ridden by Joel Rosario,
rallied through the stretch to win Saturday’s $1 million Breeders’ Cup Turf
Sprint at Santa Anita Park.
Trained by Chad Brown, Bobby’s Kitten sat off the pace being set by
Reneesgotzip in the 6 1/2-furlong sprint. Bobby’s Kitten, favored in last
year’s Juvenile Turf, rallied as the field entered the stretch and held off
7-2 favorite No Nay Never to register a neck victory.
Finishing third was Undrafted, owned by Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes
Welker, with Ageless fourth from the far outside post.
The time for the Turf Sprint was 1:12.73.
Owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, Bobby’s Kitten earned $550,000 for the win.
The 3-year-old colt has banked $1,294,916 with five wins in 11 lifetime
starts.
Last year, Bobby’s Kitten finished third in the Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita
as the 13-10 favorite. Earlier this season he won the Penn Mile at Penn
National.
Bobby’s Kitten paid $16.40, $8.00 and $6.20. No Nay Never returned $6.60 and
$4.80, and Undrafted paid $7.60 to show.
