Cavs’ Varejao agrees to extension

Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – The Cleveland Cavaliers signed Anderson
Varejao to a multi-year contract extension on Friday.

The 11th-year center has spent his entire career with the Cavs, averaging 7.8
points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Varejao has posted 88 career double-doubles
and has tallied at least seven rebounds per game in seven straight years.

“Anderson represents how this franchise wants to approach the game of
basketball, both on the court and off,” Cleveland general manager David
Griffin said. “He has been a key part of our foundation for years and we are
very happy that he will continue to be part of our Cavs family as we work
towards our goals at the highest level.”

Per league policy, terms of the deal were not released.
