Clippers star Griffin has surgery

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake
Griffin underwent successful surgery Monday to remove a staph infection in his
right elbow.

The Clippers said Griffin will be re-evaluated in three weeks.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles and assisted
by Clippers team physician Dr. Steven Shimoyama.

Griffin leads the Clippers in scoring at 22.5 points per game and is second on
the team in rebounds, averaging 7.5 over 51 games.

He was replaced on the Western Conference All-Star team by Portland’s Damian
Lillard.
