Cowboys activate DE Lawrence

Irving, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – The Dallas Cowboys have taken defensive end
DeMarcus Lawrence off injured reserve/designated to return and will have the
rookie active for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Lawrence, whom the Cowboys traded up with NFC East rival Washington to select
with the second pick of the second round (No. 34 overall) of May’s draft,
broke his foot during training camp and underwent surgery to repair the
fracture in late July.

The Boise State product will attempt to bolster a sporadic Dallas pass rush
that has produced just nine sacks through the season’s first half.

Defensive end Lavar Edwards was waived to clear a spot on the 53-man roster.
Acquired in a trade with Tennessee just prior to the start of the regular
season, the second-year pro managed only one tackle in four games.
