Davis leads Pelicans past Hornets

New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) – Anthony Davis gave a salute after
throwing down Jrue Holiday’s alley-oop pass with a monstrous one-handed slam
in the third quarter.

It was an exclamation point on a dominant frame from the blossoming third-year
star.

Davis had 12 of his 24 points in the third and the New Orleans Pelicans
defeated the Charlotte Hornets 100-91 on Tuesday night.

The Kentucky product also added 13 rebounds and three blocks for the Pelicans,
who had dropped their previous two games. Holiday posted 16 points and nine
assists, Tyreke Evans supplied 16 points and 10 rebounds and Omer Asik added
10 points and 11 boards in the triumph.

Gary Neal netted 21 points off the bench and Al Jefferson provided 20 for
Charlotte, which has lost three in a row.
