Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – Luol Deng turned in his best game as a member
of the Miami Heat, scoring 30 points, to lead them to a 105-96 win over the
Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.
Deng’s previous high this season was 18, but he filled it up against the Mavs
as Miami’s new Big Three all contributed to the victory.
Dwyane Wade supplied 20 points with 10 assists and Chris Bosh posted 20
points and 10 rebounds for the Heat, who have won two straight following a
two-game skid.
Monta Ellis paced the Mavs with 23 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 17. Tyson
Chandler deposited a 16-point, 15-rebound double-double in the setback.
Nowitzki put the Mavs up 20-18 after a 3-pointer with 2:42 remaining in the
first. Miami then ended the frame on an 11-0 run to grab a 29-20 lead after 12
minutes.
Bosh capped an 8-0 run with back-to-back baskets late in the second for a
51-37 lead, but Dallas cut the deficit to 55-44 at the break.
Ellis knocked down two 3-pointers in succession to open an 11-2 spurt that got
the hosts within four in the third, but Miami countered with nine straight
points to restore the double-digit margin.
The Heat then built their lead to a game-high 22 in the fourth quarter as they
cruised down the stretch.
