Kameda tops Hernandez to keep title

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – Tomoki Kameda retained his WBO bantamweight
title with a 12-round split decision over mandatory challenger and former
sparring partner Alejandro Hernandez Saturday night at UIC Pavilion.

Kameda won 115-113 on two scorecards, but judge Dennis Nelson had it the same
count for Hernandez.

It was the third title defense for Kameda (31-0, 19 KOs), who overcame a cut
near his left eye to send Hernandez (28-11-2, 15 KOs) to his fourth loss in
his last eight bouts.
