Ibaraki, Japan (SportsNetwork.com) – Tomohiro Kondo fired a final-round, 5-
under 66 on Sunday and that was good enough to earn him a 4-shot victory at
the Heiwa PGM Championship in Kasumigaura.
Kondo, who now has six career victories on the Japan Golf Tour, finished the
week at 20-under-par 264 at Miho Golf Club.
It was a strong start for Kondo as he made a pair of birdies on two and three,
quickly getting him into red numbers. Bogeys on five and seven put Kondo back
to even par for the day, but it was smooth sailing from there.
Kondo drained back-to-back birdies on eight and nine, making the turn at 2-
under. Kondo used birdies on 12, 15 and 18 to coast to his sixth career
victory.
Hyun-Woo Ryu (67), Hideto Tanihara (68) and Yoshinori Fujimoto (68) finished
tied for second at 16-under 268, while Brad Kennedy (70) ended at 14-under and
finished alone in fifth.
