Nebraska’s Abdullah leaves game with knee injury

Lincoln, NE (SportsNetwork.com) – Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah
suffered a left knee injury in the first quarter of Saturday’s game against
Purdue.

The Heisman Trophy candidate was hurt while diving to recover a fourth-down
fumble by quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. at the Purdue 2-yard line.

Abdullah returned with a brace over his knee and rushed once more for a 5-yard
loss before departing again to apply ice to the knee.

The senior entered the weekend the nation’s leading rusher with 1,249 yards.
