London, England (SportsNetwork.com) – Chelsea midfielder Oscar signed a
contract extension with the Premier League leaders on Monday that will keep
him with the club until 2019.
The Brazil international joined the Blues from Brazilian side Internacional in
2012 on a five-year deal and helped Chelsea win the Europa League in his first
season in England.
“I have enjoyed playing here for two years and now I have five more, so I am
very happy,” he told the club website. “I am so happy because I love playing
for Chelsea and living in England.”
Oscar has made 15 appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring four goals. He
will be back on the pitch for Chelsea when the club hosts West Bromwich Albion
at Stamford Bridge on Nov. 22.
