Perry, Pernice share third-round lead in Arizona

Scottsdale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) – Kenny Perry carded a 2-under 68 on
Saturday, while Tom Pernice, Jr. shot an even-par 70 and they are both tied
for the lead heading into the final round of the Charles Schwab Cup
Championship.

Perry and Pernice finished 54 holes at 8-under-par 202. Perry has seven career
wins on the Champions tour and Pernice, who held the first-round lead, has
three.

Entering the day with a 4-shot lead, second-round leader Jay Haas struggled on
his way to a 5-over 75, but he is still alone in second place and one shot
back at 7-under 203.

Colin Montgomerie, who is second in the Charles Schwab Cup standings, fired a
4-under 66 to jump into a tie for fourth with defending champion Fred Couples
(69).

Bernhard Langer, who has already secured the season-long Charles Schwab Cup
and the money title, is tied for 10th at 4-under 206 following a 70 on the
Conchise Course at the Desert Mountain Club.
