Pressel grabs early Mizuno Classic lead

Mie, Japan (SportsNetwork.com) – Morgan Pressel fired a first-round, 5-under
67 on Friday and she holds a 1-shot lead heading into the weekend at the
Mizuno Classic.

Pressel, a two-time winner on tour including one major championship at the
2007 Kraft Nabisco Championship, leads Laura Davies and Chella Choi by one
stroke at Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club.

Davies, a four-time major champion who will be enshrined in the World Golf
Hall of Fame in 2015, finished the first round tied with Choi at 4-under 68.

Japan’s Kotono Kozuma shot a 3-under 69 and she is joined in fourth place by
Mi Hyang Lee, Ilhee Lee and Pornanong Phatlum. World No. 2 Stacy Lewis carded
a 2-under 70 along with Ayako Uehara, Haru Nomura, Marina Alex, Sakura
Yokomine, Sun Young Yoo, Saiki Fujita and Karrie Webb.

Defending champion Teresa Lu shot a 1-over 73 on Friday and she is tied for
35th with nine others.
