Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Boston Red Sox have offered free-agent
third baseman Pablo Sandoval a five-year deal, according to a report.
A Major League source, per the Boston Globe, stated that the offer is for $95
million.
The switch-hitting third baseman, considered one of the top hitting free
agents, helped the San Francisco Giants win their third World Series title in
the last five years.
The 28-year-old hit .366 in the postseason and posted a .279 average with 16
homers and 73 RBI during the regular season.
Sandoval declined the Giants’ qualifying offer of $15.3 million for the 2015
season.
