Ten-man PSV edges Den Haag

Eindhoven, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) – PSV Eindhoven was reduced to 10
men in the opening period at the Philips Stadion on Saturday but stormed back
to collect three points with a 1-0 victory over Den Haag.

Jorrit Hendrix picked up two yellow cards within the opening 29 minutes,
putting the hosts behind the eight-ball from the early going.

But after a scoreless first half, PSV managed to break through in the 49th
minute thanks to Memphis Depay’s team-leading seventh goal of the season.

That strike proved to be all PSV would need as the hosts closed out the match
with the narrow lead in tact, keeping the club atop the Eredivisie with 27
points through 11 games.

Second-place Ajax kept pace by cruising to a 4-0 home win over lowly Dordrecht
on Saturday.

Lasse Schoene bagged a brace in the affair while Joel Veltman and Lucas
Andersen added a goal apiece to put the club on 23 points for the season.

Elsewhere in the Dutch top flight on Saturday, Rasmus Bengtsson and Youness
Mokhtar netted a goal apiece in Twente’s 2-0 defeat of Heerenveen while Sven
van Beek and Jean-Paul Boetius scored 12 minutes apart in Feyenoord’s 2-0
victory over Zwolle.
